  • Fairfield County Foundation Celebrates 35 Years of Community Impact

LANCASTER, Ohio --The Fairfield County Foundation is pleased to announce it is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year. Since 1989, the Fairfield County Foundation has been building a legacy in our community by providing opportunities for local citizens, businesses and organizations to positively impact its neighbors based on its own charitable goals. During that time, the Foundation has established 476 new funds, awarded nearly $44 million in grants and scholarships, and received more than $66 million in contributions. As of February 2024, the Foundation has more than $70 million in assets.

To pay tribute to this significant milestone, the Foundation will be holding a special dinner celebration in April and working with local non-profit fundholders to provide special monthly gifts -- from April through December and in quantities of 35 -- that will benefit the individuals they serve and the community at large. Following are the monthly gifts:

April: 35 trees will be donated to Lancaster City & Fairfield County parks.
May: 35 $10 gift cards to Keller Market House will be distributed by Meals on Wheels of Fairfield County to local senior citizens.
June: 35 toys or gifts will be provided to The Lighthouse.
July: 35 tickets to the Lancaster Festival will be distributed by 2-1-1 to local seniors who may not otherwise be able to afford the Festival.
August: 35 pairs of shoes will be donated to the Charity Newsies clothes drive.
September: 35 spays/neuters will be funded for the Fairfield Area Humane Society.
October: 35 sponsorships for Dolly's Imagination Library will be provided through the United Way of Fairfield County.
November: 35 welcome baskets for homeless veterans will be distributed by Lutheran Social Services and the Foundation will make a $35,000 donation to local food pantries.
December: 35 toys will be donated to Maywood Mission and at least a $35,000 match will be divided among funds that received donations during the 35-Hour Give.

“We’re honored to have reached another important milestone and thrilled to give back to the community as part of the celebration,” said Amy Eyman, CEO. “None of this is possible without the generous contributions of our donors and supporters throughout Fairfield County.”

“This is an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the Foundation’s accomplishments over the years,” said Eileen Competti, Fairfield County Foundation Board Chair. “In doing so, we strengthen our resolve to continue our work and identify creative, new strategies for growing and enhancing our impact on the Fairfield County community.”
