    The Fairfield County Auditor is seeking a qualified, motivated candidate to fill the position of Payroll Specialist.

    The employee will review and maintain payroll processing data and systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions for salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and a variety of payroll deductions. The employee will also develop quality assurance processes to ensure appropriate deductions are withheld. Exceptional quantitative and communication skills are required.

    Qualifications
    The successful candidate will have 3 years experience as a payroll officer or within a similar position. Additionally, this position requires an Associate degree in accounting, business, or related field -or- at least 3 additional years experience as a payroll officer, with proven leadership skills. High education and continuing education in accounting, business, finance, or related fields are desired. The successful candidate will have demonstrated competencies in communication, analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

    Compensation
    The salary range for this position is Range 6 of the county compensation schedule, and the compensation for the position will follow the county procedures for the compensation schedule. The position is expected to begin with a salary of $47,500 - $49,500, depending on experience
    and qualifications. The position comes with full county benefits, including paid time off, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
