    Position Title: The Best Job Ever
    Classification: Part Time Hourly
    Reports To: Executive Director
    Key Relationships: Program Director, Maintenance Director, Housekeeping Specialist

    Position Summary
    The Best Job Ever is a summer experience like none other. This role is an 11 week fun experience making an impact in the lives of children across Ohio. This role shall primarily be responsible for safely coordinating and running all of Geneva Hills activities such as laser tag, swimming, hatchet throwing and more. They shall also assist in the cleaning and upkeep of all Geneva Hills facilities and grounds and making meaningful relationships with kids that come to camp.

    Key Job Functions

    • Activity Supervision
      • Participate in proper activity training for all Geneva Hills activities assigned by the Executive Director.
      • Ensure that all activities are being run properly and on time.
      • Learn to facilitate all activities that Geneva Hills currently offers including: Laser Tag, Swimming, Hatchet Throwing, Watercrafts, Fishing, Archery Tag, Gaga Ball, Human Foosball, Hikes, and more.
      • Accounts for and cares for all sports equipment including balls, bats, hammocks, frisbees, etc.
      • Any needed equipment fixes or replacements will be reported to the Executive Director immediately.
      • Be an innovative problem solver seeking to improve the activity offerings of Geneva Hills.
      • Be responsible for the organization and maintenance of all activity equipment being used.
      • Ensure that the program shed remains in an organized and usable condition.
    • Housekeeping/Grounds
      • Complete proper training and reports as assigned by the Executive Director.
      • Responsible for the cleaning and basic upkeep of all Geneva Hills facilities, creating a safe and inviting environment for all Geneva Hills guests.
      • Responsible for the organized storage of housekeeping supplies and communicating needs with the Executive Director.
      • Critically assesses facilities and grounds and communicates needed improvements to the Executive Director.
      • Corrects hazardous conditions immediately.
      • Assists with the upkeep of landscaped areas on the property.
      • Ensures all linens are properly washed and stored after each usage.
      • Responsible for the disposal of all garbage on property.
    • Other Duties
      • A part time staff member in a small organization like Geneva Hills is often called upon to perform a wide variety of duties. This may include many of the following duties (not an exhaustive list):
        • Assisting with maintenance duties like repairs, construction, landscaping, and lawn care.
        • Assisting with kitchen duties like dishwashing and food preparation.

    The Best Job Ever is typically Monday through Friday with one Saturday per month required per staff member. Hours will vary depending on age and weekly requirements but will typically consist of 20+ hours a week of activity supervision and 10-20 hours of housekeeping/grounds per week.

    Experience/Qualification Requirements

    • Affirms as true the Geneva Hills Statement of Faith.
    • Has a sincere love for Jesus that shows in a consistent and evident walk with Christ.
    • Committed to the mission and ministry philosophy of Geneva Hills.
    • Communicates clearly both orally and in writing.
    • Must be at least 16 years of age with preference given to applicants that are 18 or older.
    • Preference given to applicants with a lifeguarding certification or those willing to be certified.
    Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to lift, bend, and twist.
    • Ability to push and pull loads.
    • Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
    • Good hand-eye coordination.
    • Auditory ability to hear and understand conversational levels of sound in an ordinary office environment.
