The Fairfield County Heritage Association is throwing the party as the first event in a year-long celebration leading to Sherman's bicentennial. The party is open to the public and will feature light refreshments by Ale House 1890, a birthday cake by The Confectionary and a cash bar. Craiglow’s DJ Service will play a variety of music for dancing, including some Civil War Tunes. There will be a trivia contest with prizes throughout the night, and a Civil War-era costume contest will be held at 8 p.m. The general himself will be there, as portrayed by historian Frank Bullock.
