Habitat for Humanity of Fairfield County is taking a supernatural approach to raise funds for local housing initiatives. A True American Haunt - Birth of a Nightmare is an immersive haunt experience that allows thrill seekers to navigate the historic and chilling Miller Building with profits supporting Habitat home builds.
The story behind A True American Haunt: Birth of a Nightmare pays homage to the historic building that serves as its stage. The Miller Building, which was recently acquired by Habitat, was built in 1828 and served as an infirmary or “poor house” for more than 150 years. Thought to be one of the most haunted locations in central Ohio, its paranormal halls have captured the attention of paranormal activity observers including The Travel Channel (who recently filmed an episode of their new show "Destination Fear" which is a spin-off of Ghost Adventures), Arch City Paranormal, Resident Undead and Paranormal Patrol.
The Haunt’s creative themes were conceptualized and brought to life by an experienced team with an extensive background in creating bone-chilling haunts. Creators include multi Emmy-award winning Hollywood make-up artist, Silvina Knight, whose credits include American Horror Story, among many others.
