Dr. Christine Fowler Shearer, Curator July 18 - October 25, 2020 Rooted in tradition from the Byzantine, Medieval, and Renaissance eras, diptychs (two-paneled pieces) and triptychs (three-paneled pieces) have been used to tell stories through the ages. This exhibition features 18 contemporary artists who have used the diptych and triptych to create unexpected juxtapositions within and between works. These Ohio artists use their medium of choice to create remarkable stories, some focused on personal experiences and others on a life-long interest or idea. The artists' modern interpretations of this past tradition makes for a thought-provoking and eye-opening exhibition.
