They will also be discussing things to do and not do to get rid of bed bugs. Some of the over-the-counter products promising bed bug relief are really not that effective, and some even make matters worse. "This summer, one of our main concerns is that people are using bug bombs and other pesticides in their homes that don't work on bed bugs," said Paul Wenning, Chairman of the Central Ohio Bed Bug Task Force. Household bug bombs that are meant for flying insects will not kill bed bugs. The spray irritates the bugs, they scatter, and spread the infestation to places that may have been bed bug free. The program is free and open to the public. Seating will be on a first come, first served basis. For additional information, please contact Sharon Waldo (614)645-2448.
